REDWOOD FALLS -- James Lordon "Jim" Sullivan, 96, of Redwood Falls died Tuesday at Seasons in Redwood Falls.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Catholic Church in Morton. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Morton.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, with a parish prayer service at 6 p.m. at the Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Redwood Falls and will continue for one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.

He was born Oct. 13, 1910, in Birch Cooley Township, Renville County, to Timothy and Minnie Sullivan. He grew up on the farm and attended nearby country school and Morton Public School.

He married Gert Cahill Oct. 8, 1940, in Janesville. He was a farmer and they lived on a farm in Birch Cooley Township. In December 2004, they moved to Garnette Gardens in Redwood Falls.

He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Morton where he served as a trustee and usher. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years. He was also a member of the Farmers Union, the Morton Lions Club, the Renville County ASC Committee, Tri-County Dairy Association, the Soil and Water Conservation Board, the Bird Island Creamery Board, Renville County DFL party and was president of the Morton School Board.

He is survived by his wife; children: JoAnn (and Ralph) O'Brien of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Tom (and Mary) Sullivan of Morton and Mike (and Jane) Sullivan of Franklin; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
