TERRACE -- James Myron Jackson, 64, of Terrace died Tuesday at the V.A. Medical Center in Minneapolis.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Chapel in Glenwood. Burial will be in the spring at Grove Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

He was born September 2, 1943, in Wykoff to Ralph and Vivetta (Nissen) Jackson. He grew up on a farm near Sedan where he attended Sedan Public School.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1968, and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. Then he moved to Fridley and worked at Summit Gear. In 1983 he moved to Terrace where he was self-employed as a mechanic.

He was a member of the Glenwood American Legion and served on the Sedan Daze Committee for six years.

He is survived by two children: Steve (and Melanie) Meyers of Carlos, and Melissa (and Tim) Jensen of South Haven; five grandchildren; one sister: Margaret (and Eldon) Torkelson of Plymouth; and two brothers: John (and Jo) Jackson of Nutrioso, Ariz., and Ralph (and Marlys) Yost of Annandale.

He was preceded in death by a brother.
