NEW LONDON -- Jan Allen Bengtson, 56, of New London died Wednesday at his home, after a long illness.
The service will be at 5 p.m. Saturday at Peace Lutheran Church in New London. Burial will be held at a later date at Colfax Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the church. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home in New London.
He was born Jan. 28, 1950, in Willmar to John and June (Werner) Bengtson. He attended Kandiyohi Elementary School and graduated from Willmar High School in 1968.

He married Judy Schroeder on Dec. 28, 1968, in Willmar. They lived in the St. Cloud area and he worked for the Sartell School District.
He married Lovona Farrell on Sept. 1, 1979, in Richmond. He worked as a truck driver. He moved to the Bengtson family farm in rural New London in 2003.
He was a member of Paynesville Lutheran Church in Paynesville.
He is survived by his children: Jason (and Lisa) of Rice, Jordan (and Angie) of Rice, Valerie Bengtson of Richmond, Sone Bengtson of Duluth; five grandchildren; his mother of Kandiyohi; and two brothers: Joel (and Cathy) of Avon, and Jerome (and Kristi) of Kandiyohi.
He was preceded in death by his father.
