HECTOR -- Harriet Janice Hope Sandahl, 79, of Hector died Sunday at her home.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church in Hector. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery in Askov.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hughes Funeral Home in Hector and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Memorials are preferred to the Renville County Hospice and the Cancer Society.
She was born Nov. 25, 1926, in Newfolden to Albert and Jennie (Ordal) Lokken. She grew up and attended school in Newfolden. She worked as a bookkeeper for Ace Hardware in Thief River Falls.

She married Robert Sandahl on Feb. 20, 1949, in Newfolden. They lived in various places, including Thief River Falls, Bemidji, and Superior and Pound, Wis., Minneapolis, Hector, and Orr. They retired and moved to Hector. She had worked for Green Giant in Glencoe and in the office at the Hector News Mirror.
She was a member of Eastern Star Lodge.
She is survived by her husband; children: Cindy (and Tom) Schanil, Karen Neuman, all of Hector, Dennis (and Ronitta) Sandahl of Hartford, S.D., Michelle (and Rick) Van Kluyve of Hephzibah, Ga.; five grandchildren; and two brothers: LeRoy (and Delores) Lokken of Salinas, Calif., and Donald (and June) Lokken of Thief River Falls.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
