MORRIS -- Jean Elizabeth Wieland, 88, of Morris died Tuesday.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Federated Church in Morris. Burial will be at Summit Cemetery in Morris.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Arrangements are with Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris.
She was born Sept. 1, 1917, in Egeland, N.D., to Charles and Eliza (Forney) Byer. She grew up in Egeland, graduated from Egeland High School and received her degree from Minot State College. She taught school in Egeland.

She married Woodrow Wieland on Aug. 1, 1939. They lived in several towns in North Dakota before moving to Morris in 1945. Woodrow died in 1968. She worked at Knowles Clothing, and then managed the Jane Morris Women's Specialty Shop for seven years. She received a bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of Minnesota-Morris in 1981. She worked at Morris State Bank from 1960 until she retired in 1988.
She was an active member of her church and volunteered at the senior citizen center, food shelf, bloodmobile and election polls.
She is survived by her children: Beverly (and Gene) Tonn, Barbara (and Al) Silva, William (and Shirley) Wieland, Linda (and Darrell) Tebay; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one sister: Evelyn Butler.
She was preceded in death by her parents and stepmother: Esther Miller Byer; her husband; and one brother.
