MINNEAPOLIS -- Jean Margaret Ostlund, 85, of Minneapolis, formerly of Willmar, died Friday at the Jones-Harrison Residence in Minneapolis after a battle with ovarian cancer.

MINNEAPOLIS -- Jean Margaret Ostlund, 85, of Minneapolis, formerly of Willmar, died Friday at the Jones-Harrison Residence in Minneapolis after a battle with ovarian cancer.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Church of St. Mary in Willmar. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and continues for one hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.

She was born Aug. 11, 1923, in Wausau, Wis., to Arthur and Elvina Skinner. She grew up in Wausau and graduated from Wausau High School in 1942. She moved to Milwaukee where she attended Prospect Hall and later worked for a doctor.

She married Marvin Ostlund on May 18, 1957, in Wausau. They moved to Willmar where Marvin worked for Burlington Northern Railroad.

She was a member of the Does, the Great Books program in the Willmar School District, and the D.A.C. in Kandiyohi. She was also the chairperson of the Kandiyohi County chapter of the American Cancer Society.

She is survived by her children: Mary (and Bruce) Bildsten of Minneapolis, Carol (and Dan) Olson of Willmar, Jill (and Dan) McCarty of Edina and David Ostlund (and Megan Yuen) of Minneapolis; eight grandchildren; and one brother: Tom (and Mary) Skinner of Sun Prairie, Wis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one sister and one brother.
