APPLETON -- Jeannette Arlene Johnson, 95, of Appleton, formerly of Manlius, Ill., died Wednesday at Pleasant View in Appleton.
A private service will be today at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Manlius, Ill. Burial will be at Manlius Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to Manlius Rescue or Manlius Cemetery.

She was born June 3, 1910, in Buda, Ill., to Earl and Ora (Treudt) Taylor. She graduated from Buda High School and attended Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill. She taught country school in rural Manlius and music at Manlius High School.
She married Howard Johnson on Nov. 26, 1931, in Buda. They owned and operated Taylor Memorial Chapel in Buda and Howard Johnson Funeral Home in Manlius. She moved to Appleton several years ago.
She was a member of the Retired Teachers of Illinois.
She is survived by her sons: Howard (and Rita) Johnson of Lost Nation, Iowa, Richard (and Garda) Johnson of Wyanet, Ill.; son-in-law: Dean Tubbs of Appleton; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter: Joan Tubbs; one grandson and one brother.
