DANUBE -- Jeffrey Brian Schafer, 53, of Danube died Tuesday at his home.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Zion United Methodist Church in Danube. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. Arrangements are with Dirks-Blem Funeral Service in Olivia.
He was born Aug. 20, 1954, in St. Paul to Delbert and Lorene (Fluck) Schafer. He grew up in Minneapolis until 1963, when they moved to California. He graduated from La Mirada High School in La Mirada, Calif. He worked for many years doing painting and maintenance on homes and commercial buildings.

He married Becky Tyner. They later divorced. He recently moved to Danube.
He is survived by his two sons: Brian (and Michelle) Schafer of Chino Hills, Calif., and Aaron (and Carrie) Schafer of San Luis Obisbo, Calif.; a granddaughter; his mother and stepfather: Lorene and Floyd Rand of Danube; his sister: Nancy (and Wayne) Lewis of Chino, Calif.; and his brother: Curtis Schafer of Yucipa, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his father.
