BEAVER FALLS -- Jim Donald Marks, 51, of Beaver Falls died Tuesday at his home.

The service will be at 1:15 p.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bird Island. Burial is at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Bird Island and from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to the Redwood County Hospice.

He was born Jan. 10, 1957, in Olivia to Donald and Shirley "Smith" Marks. He attended St. Mary's School and Bird Island-Lake Lillian Public Schools. From 1979 to 1988, he worked over the road construction as a journeyman. He built a home in Beaver Falls from 1991 to 1995. In 1989, he started Beaver Falls Construction and in 1999 started the On Demand Precast business. He also farmed since 1997.

He married Marcia Atwood on April 21, 2001, in Bird Island.

He volunteered by organizing food drives and delivery to victims after natural disasters.

He is survived by his wife; siblings: Daniel (and Sharon) Marks of Bird Island, Theresa Lankenau of Bird Island, Bob Marks of Atwater, Tom (and Connie) Marks of St. Cloud, and Sharon (and Jim) Mohs of Bird Island.
