WILLMAR -- Joan Marie Peters, 78, formerly of Willmar died Wednesday at Ebenezer Care Center in Minneapolis.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Willmar. Burial will be at Cloverleaf Cemetery.
Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home and West Central Cremation Service.
She was born on May 17, 1930, in Bismarck, N.D., to Henry and Elizabeth (Neeb) Peters. She attended elementary schools in Bismarck and graduated in 1949 from Willmar High School. She graduated in 1952 from Drew Business College. She worked as a secretary for the Army Corps of Engineers. In 1976, she retired and in 1989 she moved to Minneapolis and lived at Ebenezer Towers. Later, she moved to Ebenezer Care Center.
She volunteered at Redeemer Lutheran Church by playing the church organ for 20 years, was a member of the choir and taught Sunday school. She was a member of Walther League, BP, and the Humane Society.

She is survived by her brother: Don (and Margaret) Peters of Park Rapids.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
