July 6, 1941 - March 26, 2006

GRANITE FALLS -- John Charles Bronson, 64, of Granite Falls died Sunday at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Granite Falls Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.

Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Arrangements are with Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Granite Falls.

He was born July 6, 1941, in Litchfield to Hardy and Ethel (Markel) Bronson. He grew up in Clarkfield. His family moved to Redwood Falls when he was 12 years old. He graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1959. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1960 to 1964.

He married Madelyn Jensen on Jan. 8, 1961. They lived in Norfolk, Va., and moved to Granite Falls in 1964. He worked at UPS as a driver and later as a supervisor. He was the transportation director for the Granite Falls School busing system for many years, owner of a Western store, and most recently, Mid-Continent Cabinets. He retired in 2004.

He is survived by his wife; daughter Pam (and Shawn) Teal of Richmond; daughter-in-law: Lisa Bronson of Burnsville; six grandchildren; and one brother: Robert (and Bobbie) Bronson of Cumberland, Wis.

He was preceded in death by his son: Paul; two brothers and two sisters.
