BARRINGTON, R.I. -- John C. Hedlund, 66, of Barrington, R.I., formerly of Willmar, died Saturday at the Rhode Island Hospital.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Evangelical Covenant Church in Riverside, R.I.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Smith-Mason Funeral Home in Riverside. Memorials are preferred to Great Northern Railway Historical Society in Burnsville.
He was born Nov. 18, 1939, in Willmar to Donald and Hazel (Dale) Hedlund. He graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead in 1961. He was a distribution manager in manufacturing and later in human resources at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City, Mo., from 1961 to 1979.

He married Sandra Gadberry. He moved to Barrington, R.I., in 1979. He worked at Trifari, Victoria Creations and Aurex & Healey. He retired in 2000. They spent many summers at Green Lake in Spicer.
He is survived by his wife; children; Kristen Lowney of Mystic, Conn., Gregory Hedlund of Barrington, R.I.; three grandchildren; and one brother: Dale Hedlund of St. James.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
