John C. Lepler

NEW LONDON -- John Claus Lepler, 94, of New London died Friday at GlenOaks Care Center in New London.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Peace Lutheran Church in New London. Burial will be at Lebanon Cemetery in New London.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Johnson Funeral Home in New London.

He was born June 25, 1912, in Clara City to John and Justine (Niemeyer) Lepler. He grew up and attended school in the Clara City area.
He married Harriet Holm in June of 1939. They lived in New London where he owned and operated Holm Our Own Hardware Store for 68 years. He retired in 1980. Harriet died in 1981.
He married Ilo Nepsund on Dec. 26, 1982. They lived in New London.
He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, where he held many church offices, and also belonged to many clubs and organizations. He donated land for the Senior Citizen building in New London and lakeshore property for parks in the area.
He is survived by his wife; son: Bruce (and Diane) Lepler of Metairie, La.; stepchildren: LuAnn (and Leslie) Dengerud of Big Lake, Curt (and Jan) Nepsund of Maple Grove; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two siblings: August Lepler of Arizona and Violet Thorkelson of Granite Falls.
He was preceded in death by his first wife; and his daughter: Judy.
