PAYNESVILLE -- John Herbert Jensen, 77, of Paynesville died Wednesday at the Paynesville Area Hospital.
The service will be private. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home in Paynesville.
He was born May 26, 1929, in New Haven, Conn., to John and Florence (Johnson) Jensen. He grew up in New Milford and Brookfield, Conn., and graduated from Milford High School in 1947. He entered the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Sicily during the Korean War.

He married Patricia Hirmke on Oct. 9, 1953, in San Gabriel, Calif. They lived in California, Oregon and New Mexico. He worked as a technician industrial engineer for numerous companies in the aerospace and high-tech industry. They moved to Minneapolis in 1992. He retired in 1999 but did woodworking and furniture restoration. They moved to Paynesville in 2002.
He is survived by his wife; and one daughter: Kristen (and Lyle) Scott of Minneapolis.
