CLARA CITY -- John Henry Sweep, 91, of Clara City, died Wednesday at the Clara City Care Center.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Bethany Reformed Church in Clara City. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Harvey Anderson Clara City Funeral Home in Clara City and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
He was born Dec. 24, 1914, in Holland Township, Kandiyohi County, to Henry and Anna (Frikke) Sweep. He grew up in Rheiderland Township and attended District 70 School.

He married Margaret Aalfs on Dec. 1, 1937, in Stoneham Township. He worked for several farmers in the area and also at Kray's Texaco. They moved to a farm west of Clara City in 1947. They retired in 1979 and moved to Clara City. He moved to the Clara City Care Center in 2001.
He was a member of Bethany Reformed Church in Clara City, served on the consistory as an elder and was vice president and deacon. He also served on the Community Haus Board.
He is survived by his children: Roger (and Susan) Sweep of Clara City, Bonnie (and Jim) Miller of Renville; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren;and three brothers: Alvin Sweep of Kerkhoven, Theodore Sweep of Clarissa and Verlin Sweep of Willmar.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1998; infant son: Allen; four brothers and two sisters.
