RENVILLE -- John Richard Aalderks, 85, of Renville died Thursday at the Renville County Hospital in Olivia.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Renville. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Renville.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Renville and one hour prior to the service at the church.
He was born March 25, 1923, in Crooks Township, Renville County, to Richard and Gertrude (Beekman) Aalderks. He grew up on the farm in Crooks Township and attended country school. In 1959, he moved to a farm in Emmet Township.
He married Verna Cole on July 19, 1968, north of Renville. He farmed in Emmet Township until his retirement in 1985. They later moved into Renville.

He was a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church and served on the township board.
He is survived by his stepdaughter: Arlys (and Don) Jensen of Apple Valley.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a sister and two brothers.
