BENSON -- John Selmer Saterbak Jr., 76, of Benson died Thursday at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Benson. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the church and for one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are by Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson.

He was born Jan. 21, 1932, in Benson to John Sr. and Inez T. (Svor) Saterbak. He grew up in Benson and graduated in 1951 from Benson High School. He in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean War.

He married Elaine C. Anderson on Sept. 28, 1957, in Chippewa County. In 1958, he started to work with his father in the carpentry business. He was a self-employed carpenter for many years until his retirement.

He was a member of Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Benson, the Lions Club and the American Legion. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1403 in Benson and helped with Boys Scouts as a leader.

He is survived by his wife; three sons: Todd (and Nancy) Saterbak of Maple Grove, Wade Saterbak of Benson, and Chad (and Kimberly) Saterbak of Benson; seven grandchildren; and one brother: Lowell (and Marie) Saterbak of Lakeland.

He was preceded in death by one sister.
