WILLMAR -- Ridgewater evened its record at 3-3 as David Johnson notched a double-double with 27 points and 12 rebounds in an 83-71 men's junior college basketball victory over Rainy River on Saturday.
Rainy River made just 1-of-18 shots from three-point range, while Ridgewater hit on 7-of-17 beyond the arc.
Johnson, a 6-5 sophomore from New London, had 13 points in the first half as the Warriors opened a 43-36 advantage. Johnson also led the Warriors with five assists and had two steals.
Rainy River would never threaten to take the lead in the second, although the Voyageurs did stay within six points most of the way.
Isaac Brehmer, a 6-3 sophomore from Madison, had a solid second half, scoring 13 of his 19 points over the final 20 minutes. He made 9-of-13 shots for the game.

Micah Oates-Jenkins Jr., a sophomore from Florida, scored 10 points. Geoffrey Nelson, a sophomore from Clara City, hooked 11 rebounds to go along with his seven points. Allen Huselid, a sophomoe from Willmar, chipped in eight points and Tim Dreier six points and four assists.
Marcus Singletary led Rainy River with 23 points, nine rebounds and three steals.
