APPLETON -- Jonathon Scott "Jon" Erickson, 20, of Appleton died Wednesday at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Catholic Church in Appleton. Burial will be in the Appleton City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, and for one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with Zniewski Funeral Home-Vaala Chapel in Appleton.

He was born March 23, 1986, in Montevideo to Scott and Jodi (Ruether) Erickson. He attended Appleton Elementary School, fifth and sixth grade at Milan School, and graduated from Lac qui Parle Valley High School in 2004. He later attended vocational school in Alexandria for sales and marketing. He began working at Don's Food Pride in Appleton at the age of 14 and continued to work at the stores in Appleton and Dawson until the time of his death. He was currently manager of Don's Food Pride in Appleton.

He was a member of the Ridgerunners Snowmobile Club, National Rifle Association, the Appleton Sportsman's Club, Pheasants Forever and Ducks Unlimited.

He is survived by his parents: Jodi (and Tim) Dittes of Appleton and Scott Erickson of Dawson; his sister: Jourdan Erickson of Appleton; his brother: Tony Dittes of Appleton; his special friend: Missy Kapsner; grandparents: John (and Janet) Ruether of Montevideo, Aggie Erickson of Dawson, and Don Dittes and Janette Hanson of Appleton; great-grandmother: Lizetta Buchele.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Lester Erickson, and great-grandparents.
