STARBUCK -- Josephine Amelia Sansness, 99, of Starbuck, formerly of Breckenridge, died Thursday at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck.
The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery, rural Starbuck.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home. Arrangements are with Hoplin Funeral Home in Glenwood.
She was born April 19, 1906, on a farm in rural Farwell to Andrew and Ida (Wicklund) Sansness. She attended country school District 74. She worked at various homes, caring for children and the home.

She moved to Breckenridge in 1931 and worked for the Sagness family. She worked as a clerk at Sagness Variety Store and later became the store buyer. She worked there for 40 years. She entered St. Catherine's Care Center in Whapeton, N.D., and then moved to the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck.
She was a charter member of Breckenridge Lutheran Church, active in the Women of the ELCA, taught Sunday school and designed and sewed quilts at the church.
She is survived by nieces and nephews: Vivian McIsaac of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Carol (and Courtney) Engebretson of Starbuck, Lauren (and Irene) Sansness of Cyrus, Pat (and Paul) Larson of Prior Lake, Darrel King of Portland, Ore., Joan (and Ken) Spears of Tuthill, S.D., Carmen (and Bob) Llewellyn of Bellevue, Wash., Laural Olson of Shoreline, Wash., Nannette (and Richard) Rice of Shoreville, Wash., Roxanne (and James) Harris of Tacoma, Wash., Susan (and Jon) Holden of Carrara, Australia, Sally (and Robert) Laurent of Toowoomba, Australia, and Drew (and Connie) Sansness of Carindale, Australia.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and seven sisters.
