APPELTON -- Josephine Caroline Larson, 89, of Appleton, died Friday at Appleton Area Health Services.

The service will be on at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church in. Burial will be at Lac qui Parle Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today at Zniewski Funeral Home-Vaala Chapel in Appleton and one hour prior to the services at the church.

She was born on Sept. 10, 1917, in Hegbert Township in Swift County to Ole and Hannah (Johnson) Brustuen. She graduated from Appleton High School and received her teaching degree from the University of Minnesota-Morris.

On Oct. 1, 1947, she married Orvin S. Larson. She taught school for many years at Drywood rural school, Correll Public School and at Appleton Elementary School. She was a member of the Sons of Norway and the ladies a id.

She is survived by sons: Orgene (and Gaye) Larson of Graceville, Kermit (and Daisy) Larson of Appleton and Loren (and Darlene) Larson of New Hope; four grandchildren; and sister: Signora Beyer of Appleton.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son: Dayton; two sisters, including one in infancy; and three brothers.
