DAWSON -- Joyce Kay Suckow, 54, of Dawson died Sunday at her home.
The service will be at 1 p.m. today at First Presbyterian Church in Dawson. Burial will be at a later date at Ell Township Cemetery in Klemme, Iowa.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson. Memorials are preferred to pulmonary hypertension research.

She was born Jan. 20, 1951, in Independence, Iowa, to Dale and H. Lois (Metcalf) Suckow. She attended elementary school in Jesup, Iowa, and graduated from high school in Hull, Iowa, in 1969. She attend Westmar College for two years and graduated from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, S.D. She studied computer technology at Minnesota West Tech. She worked as a social worker in Spencer, Iowa, and Rapid City, S.D. She moved to Montevideo in the 1980s and worked as a surveyor for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. She later moved to Dawson and worked at Innovex as a laser technician.
She served on the pulmonary hypertension hotline after she was diagnosed with the disease. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she served as clerk of session and as an elder of the church, and she was active with the Chippewa County Historical Society.
She is survived by her parents of New Ulm; brother: James (and Rebecca) Suckow of Hampton, Iowa; and special friend: Gilbert Garcia of Dawson.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
