APPLETON -- Judell Kolstad, 88, of Appleton, formerly of Milan, died Tuesday at the Appleton Nursing Home.
The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Big Bend Lutheran Church in Big Bend City. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be in the afternoon and evening today, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
She was born on Sept. 30, 1919, in Big Bend Township, Chippewa County, to Ole and Johannah (Aarseth) Thompson. She attended rural schools.

She married Raymond Kolstad on Sept. 5, 1941, in Benson. They farmed for many years in Swift and Chippewa counties. They retired and moved into Milan in 1983. She moved to Appleton in September.
She was a member of Big Bend Lutheran Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of homemakers and the Big Bend Barn Dance Gang.
She is survived by three children: Yvonne (and Allen) Andrews of Watson, Arlen Kolstad of St. James City, Fla., and Julie Swenson of Sartell; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother: Arnold Thompson of Litchfield; three sisters: Ruby Torgerson of Appleton, Elnora Jorgenson of Marshall, and Mildred Blom of Montevideo.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2003 and three brothers.
