WILLMAR -- The fourth and final defendant in the bizarre kidnapping of a man for drug money will stand trial in Kandiyohi County District Court.
Judge Donald M. Spilseth ruled today against a change of venue for Tyler Loren Curtis, 19, of Willmar. Curtis faces eight felony charges for the March 21 kidnapping incident, including kidnapping, assault and aggravated robbery charges.
Curtis was one of four people charged after they allegedly lured the man to a Willmar apartment and then beat him, bound him to a chair and blindfolded him. The man escaped his captors when they drove him to an area outside of Willmar.
Court proceedings on two other charges against Curtis will also remain in the county. No dates have been set yet for his next court appearances.
