Jurors in the Brok Junkermeier murder trial were shown the dagger Junkermeier told authorities he used to kill 79-year-old Lila Warwick on July 29.
Also, in testimony this morning in Kandiyohi District Court, multiple detectives and deputies said Junkermeier led officers to an abandoned farm site northwest of Willmar. In his taped confession of July 31, Junkermeier called the site the “murder shack” and told investigators that’s where he threw the dagger and the black sweatshirt he was wearing during the murder. The items were found in long grass in some woods on the property.
Junkermeier led the officers to the location about 1 a.m. on Aug. 1 after a nearly 4-hour interview at the Kandiyohi County Law Enforcement Center. During this interview, Junkermeier laid out in great detail how he carried out the attack on Warwick.
In a taped confession, Junkermeier told officers he thought he should be charged with first-degree murder, premeditated murder and other crimes.
Testimony is continuing this afternoon in the trial.

Junkermeier and Warwick’s grandson, Robert Warwick, 18, were indicted on first-degree murder charges in September for their roles in killing Warwick at her residence on the east edge of Willmar.
Both young men face the possibility of life in prison if convicted and both are currently held on $2 million bail in the Kandiyohi County Jail. Junkermeier has been in the county jail since Aug. 1. No trial date has been set for Robert Warwick.
