Juvenile injured in T-bone crash Tuesday morning north of Willmar

The extent of the 17-year-old's injuries, name and residence have not been released by law enforcement but the juvenile was transported to Rice Carris Health in Willmar.

DOVRE TOWNSHIP — A 17-year-old male was injured during a two-vehicle car crash Tuesday morning on U.S. Highway 71, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The extent of the injuries, name and residence have not been released by law enforcement but the juvenile was transported to Carris Health — Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.

According to the State Patrol, Benjamin Lee Beekman, 39, of Hawick, was traveling south on Highway 71 in a 2003 Ford F-250 pickup around 7 a.m. Tuesday when the juvenile, driving a 2010 Chrysler 300, entered the highway from County Road 25, causing a T-bone type collision in the intersection north of Willmar near Eagle Lake.

No injuries were listed for Beekman.

Both parties were wearing their seat belts, road conditions were dry and alcohol was not involved, according to the State Patrol.

The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the incident.
