Kandiyohi County Board holds public hearing on animal ordinance Tuesday

WILLMAR -- A public hearing on a proposed animal ordinance will be held Tuesday during the regular meeting of the Kandiyohi County Commissioners.

The ordinance will address dangerous animals, animals running at large and prohibited animals. The hearing begins at 10:15 a.m.

Other items on the agenda include bid letting for a new telephone system, a presentation by Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center about a solar legacy grant and an amendment to the Hawk Creek low-interest loan.

At 11 a.m. the Commissioners will act on conditional use permits and at 11:15 there'll be a presentation on a proposal to vacate County Road 20. The Commissioners will also conduct their annual review of County Administrator Larry Kleindl.

At 11:30 the Commissioners will meet as the Community Health Board where there will be presentations on the Community Health Assessment and Action Planning and the 2010 budget for the Minnesota Department of Health.

Prior to the regular meeting, the Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. as the family services committee. Items on that agenda include a presentation on the county adoption program, an update on the Community Addiction Recovery Enterprise and an update and contract with the Somali Connection.

The Commissioners meet on the second floor of the Health and Human Services Building, located at 2200 23 St. NE.
