As is allowed under state law, Ahmann has requested a recount. The recount will be paid by the county since the vote difference between the two candidates is less than one half of 1 percent of the vote total.

The recount, which is open to the public, will begin at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Kandiyohi County Office Building located at 400 Benson Ave. S.W. in Willmar.
