WILLMAR -- Thomas Harold Kremer, 62, of Kandiyohi, made his first court appearance Wednesday in Kandiyohi County District Court on eight first- and second-degree criminal sexual conduct charges for allegedly molesting two children.

Unconditional bail was set at $150,000. Conditional bail was set at $75,000. Conditions include no contact with the alleged victims, exclusion from a Kandiyohi residence, compliance with no-contact orders and no possession of firearms. His next appearance is March 29.

According to the complaint, a Kandiyohi County Sheriff's deputy was called March 12 to a home in Kandiyohi on a domestic. A 15-year-old girl said Kremer had touched her private parts several times over the last couple of years and that Kremer had told her it was a personal thing between them and not to tell anyone else.

On Monday, a child protection worker and a detective spoke with the girl, who clarified that he'd touched her chest area multiple times, starting when she was 12 or 13 years old and continuing until recently.

The girl said Kremer engaged in anal sex with her twice. She said she told friends about the incidents, but hadn't reported it because she didn't want to get in trouble.

The girl told the detective she believed Kremer had also inappropriately touched a 15-year-old boy.

The boy was interviewed and said the girl had told him about what Kremer did to her. The boy also said Kremer had touched his private parts and had performed oral sex on him. Like the girl, the boy said he didn't want to tell anyone or speak to an officer because he was embarrassed and afraid of getting in trouble.
