Kara A. Karlsgodt of Union, Maine, and Samuel G. Adolphsen of Augusta, Maine, are engaged to be married Aug. 1 at Morrill Baptist Church in Morrill, Maine.
Karlsgodt is the daughter of Terry and Jane Karlsgodt of rural Atwater.
She graduated from Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City High School in Grove City in 2004 and from Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, in 2008 with a degree in social work. She is employed as a social worker by Home Counselors Inc. in Belfast, Maine.
Adolphsen is the son of Curtis and Cindy Adolphsen of Union, Maine.
He was home-schooled and graduated from Husson University in Bangor, Maine, in 2008 with a degree in business administration and management. He is employed as a coordinator by The Maine Heritage Policy Center in Augusta, Maine.
