BENSON -- Katherine Marie Nowak, 87, of Benson died Thursday at Meadow Lane Health Care Center in Benson.
The service will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Agnes Catholic Church in St. Paul. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in St. Paul.
Visitation will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. today at O'Halloran & Murphy Funeral Home in St. Paul. Arrangements are with Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson.
She was born Nov. 14, 1918, in St. Paul to Henry and Catherine (Welsch) Kieman. She graduated from St. Agnes Grade School in 1933 and from Washington High School in 1937

She married Francis Nowak on May 10, 1947. She was a librarian at St. Agnes Grade School for almost 30 years. She moved to Benson in 2001.
She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary 6845.
She is survived by her children: Michael (and Michele) Nowak of Hastings, Patricia (and Gregory) Lee of Benson; five grandchildren; and one brother: Raymond (and Jane) Kieman of St. Paul.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1976 and three brothers.
