MONTEVIDEO -- Keaton Nichole Vickers, 20, formerly of Montevideo, died Wednesday in Minneapolis of a drug overdose, after battling addiction.

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo.

Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Montevideo.

She was born Dec. 3, 1985, in Gainesville, Ga., to Mary Vien and Kevin Vickers. She graduated from Montevideo Senior High School in 2004. She was a member of the Gold Duster Dance Team, the marching band and the swim team. She taught dance to K-12 students and worked for Homefront Assisted Living.

She attended the South Dakota School of Mines and later transferred to Minnesota State University Mankato to study engineering.

She is survived by her parents: Mary (and Bruce) Vien of Montevideo, Kevin (and Crystal) Vickers of Fayetteville, Ark.; one brother: Bradley Vickers of Montevideo; two stepsisters: Jeannie Green, Amy Allen, both of Springdale, Ark.; and her grandparents: DeVon and Lois Vien of Montevideo, Richard and Carol Schlemmer of Alexandria, Auddie and Theresa Vickers of Springdale, Ark., Mary and Hickory Morton of Springdale, Ark., Georgia Hayes of North Wilksboro, N.C., and James and Doris Lawrence of Gainesville, Ga.
