WILLMAR -- The Kandiyohi County Board of Commissioners has approved the hiring of Jay Kieft as director of the Family Services Department.
Kieft is slated to begin his duties March 5. He has been executive director of the Heartland Community Action Agency since 2004.
Kieft will succeed Larry Kleindl, who is in the process of taking over the position of county administrator. Longtime Administrator Wayne Thompson is retiring this year.
