The Willmar Cardinal Wrestling Invitational starts at 4 p.m. today with an eight-team field at the senior high school.
With its well-season-ed lineup, 2006 champions Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg is the team to beat. Yellow Medicine East finished a point behind the Fighting Saints, while Willmar took third.
As many as eight champions from a year ago could wrestle: Logan Johnson and Austen Cole of YME; Jacob Engler, Kevin Steinhaus, Brad Kneisl and Cody Kinney of KMS; Justin Frederick of Minnewaska and Brad Plumhoff of Benson.
