WILLMAR -- Coming off the holidays, the Ridgewater Lady Warriors showed no rust. Instead, they put on a polished performance to whip Rochester 76-57 Wednesday evening at the college gym in a match-up of the No. 1 and No. 2-ranked teams in the Minnesota Community College league.
The Lady Warriors shot a sparkling 77 percent at the line and 41 percent on 3-pointers, compared to 19 percent coming into the game.
While nine players scored and nine had at least two rebounds, no one's game shined brighter than Jenny Cunningham. The sophomore guard from Atwater pumped in a career-high 21 points, grabbed six rebounds, dished out three assists and made five steals.
Terra Billiet added 12 points and 10 rebounds and Katie Johnson 10 points and eight rebounds. Kayla Karnes and Cunningham were both 3 of 6 on treys.
