WAHPETON, N.D. -- Ridgewater couldn't protect the ball and paid for it in a 75-50 loss to North Dakota State College of Science in women's junior college basketball Wednesday.
The Wildcats, a Division II program, made 21 steals and forced the Lady Warriors into 25 turnovers overall.
"They harassed our guards and we made some bad decisions with the ball," said head coach Carrie Ogdahl. "We also shot poorly. Hopefully that will end soon."
The Lady Warriors shot 33 percent last night and made only 14 field goals Monday in a six-point loss to the Gustavus Adolphus JV.
NDSCS (5-5), shooting 50 percent from the field, placed four players in double figures led by Jenn Giller with 17 points.

Melissa Sterkel, a Ridgewater post, was an exception as far as shooting. She made 7 of 11 attempts and finished with 16 points. Ashley Olson added 15 points on 5 of 12 shooting.
Rebounds were even at 41 apiece. Guard Kayla Karnes snared six rebounds for the Lady Warriors.
