ROCHESTER -- Ridgewater lost for the first time this season after it stranded 16 runners in a 5-4 loss to Rochester in the second game of a MCCC Southern Division doubleheader Friday.
Sophomore Jenny Berge fueled the Lady Warriors (7-1, 7-1) in the first game by knocking in three runs in a 4-3 Ridgewater win, its seventh straight to start the season.
Game One
Ridgewater 4, Rochester 3
Berge's two-run single in the third inning scored Laura Suter (3-for-3) and Julie Vosejpka, who reached on an error. After the Yellowjackets jumped in front with a three-run burst in the fourth, Berge singled again to score Vosejpka to tie the game 3-3. Heather Hammond, who had singled, crossed the plate later in the inning after a Rochester error, one of four by the host team. It turned out to be the winning run.

Winning pitcher Suter gave up five hits, struck out four and didn't walk a batter.

Rochester roughed up starter Angie Flaten for 10 hits in five innings and a 5-1 lead. But Ridgewater made a bid in the seventh to pull out the win and keep their winning streak alive.

Flaten helped her cause with an RBI single bringing home Berge. Flaten scored on a fielder's choice and Erica Slagter came home on a single by Suter before Rochester starter Sarah Mainz got the last out and the one-run win.
Ridgewater, which had seven hits and five walks off Mainz, left the bases full in the third, fifth and seventh innings.
