MILAN -- Larry Raymond Ziemann, 77, of Milan died Tuesday at his home.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan. Burial will be at Kviteseid Lutheran-Milan Methodist Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening at Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. and a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.

He was born Jan. 23, 1929, in Cameron Township, Murray County, to William and Christena (Reese) Ziemann. He attended Lake Wilson High School. He served in the U.S. Navy Seabees and was stationed in San Diego, Guam, Japan and Korea.

He married Mary Ellen Claussen on Aug. 26, 1955, in Slayton. They lived in Slayton and Lake Wilson and then moved to Milan in 1963. He worked as a carpenter.

He was a member of the Lac qui Parle Lake Association, Milan Rod & Gun Club, and American Legion Post 359 of Milan. He was the Minnesota State Archery Association overall champion in 1962.

He is survived by his wife; children: Wendy (and Jorge) Botello of Uvalde, Texas, Cindy (and Steve) Madden of Arvada, Colo., Ted Ziemann of Milan, Nancy Mervine of St. Cloud, Fla.; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two siblings: Arnold (and Jean) Ziemann and Amanda (and Duane) Timmerman, all of Lake Wilson.
