WILLMAR -- LaVina Regina Smith, 80, of Willmar, formerly of Olivia, died Friday at her home.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Lake Lillian. Burial will be in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Monday at the church. Arrangements are with the Hughes Funeral Home in Hector.

She was born Feb. 1, 1927, in Edison Township, Swift County, to Joseph and Veronica (Sadergaski) Kurkosky. She grew up in the Appleton area where she attended rural school.
She married Percy V. Smith on July 27, 1945, in Clontarf. They lived in Hastings where she worked at Smead Manufacturing. They moved to the Hector-Bird Island-Lake Lillian area, and she was employed by Fingerhut. They moved to Olivia where she worked in housekeeping at the 212 Motel and also worked at the canning factory. She has lived in Willmar for the past two years.
She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Lake Lillian.
She is survived by her children: Shirley (and Delano) Anderson of Franklin, Marie (and Roger) Kendall of Mission, Texas, Eugene (and Shirley) Smith of Edgerton, David (and Mary Beth) Smith of Hector, Beverly (and George) Garrett of Milbank, S.D., Tom (and Sue) Smith of Bird Island, and Mary (and Joseph) Pelkey of Willmar; 19 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a sister: Dorothy Wrobleski of Willmar.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1978, a great-grandchild, five brothers, and by five sisters, including one infant sister.
