Leaders elected Tuesday in Gennessee, Lake Elizabeth and Irving townships

WILLMAR -- Township elections were held across Minnesota on Tuesday.

Local residents elected township supervisors and clerks and set property tax levies for the next year.

Some local results are included here.

Kandiyohi County

Gennessee Township

Supervisor George Klose was re-elected to a three-year term, and Roger Benson was re-elected clerk to a two-year term. The township had 37 voters. The township residents kept its property tax levy at $65,000.

Lake Elizabeth Township

Elder Madsen was re-elected supervisor, and Allan Junkermeier was re-elected clerk. The election had 36 voters.

In the annual meeting, residents set a property tax levy of $35,000.

Irving Township

The township's 22 voters elected Russell Schmidt as supervisor and Donnel Williamson as clerk.

Levies were set at $10,000 for the general fund, $175,000 for the road and bridge fund and $30,000 for the fire fund.
