BENSON -- Kerkhoven advanced to the District 7-II Final Four with a 3-2 win over Glenwood in the Northeast sub-district Legion baseball tournament Sunday.
Kerkhoven (14-2) beat Glenwood 10-3 Saturday, then Glenwood got back to the championship series by topping West Central Area 10-7 in eight innings.

Brant Beckman did much of the work himself in scored the eventual winning run for Kerkhoven. He singled -- one of three in as many at-bats -- stole second, went to third on a fielder's choice and scored on a passed ball.
In the first inning, Alex Baker singled in a run and Aaron Zimmer's ground out plated another to take a 2-1 lead.

Kerkhoven took control early, scoring six runs in the first inning for a 6-2 lead.
Alex Baker hit two doubles and had an RBI, Chris Braaten had two hits and Brant Beckman had two hits and two RBI.

Justin Johnson went the distance, allowing three runs on six hits. He struck out six and walked two.
Cass Kreitlow had two hits for Glenwood and was the losing pitcher.
