SPICER -- On a 90-degree evening, Montevideo and New London-Spicer played for 10 innings before getting a decision.

Both American Legion Baseball teams scored twice in the ninth, but the visitors from Montevideo added three more in the top of the 10th to achieve a 7-4 victory in the summer-season opener for both.

Ten pitchers took the mound, the longest stint by Montevideo starter Colton Vien who threw four innings.

The win went to Kyle TeBeest, who struggled through the ninth, walking four and giving up the two runs. Joe Bednar pitched a perfect 10th inning for the save.

Logan Brink, the fifth NLS pitcher, got roughed up in the ninth and 10th, and took the loss.
