Jessica Leither and Rich Vander Weyst, both of Elgin, Ill., are engaged to be married Oct. 16 at the Basilica of St. Mary in Minneapolis.
Leither is the daughter of Duane and Betty Leither.
She is a 1997 graduate of New London-Spicer High School in New London and a 2001 graduate of Minnesota State University-Mankato with a bachelor's degree. She earned a master's degree in counseling in 2005 from MSU-Mankato and a doctorate in counseling psychology in 2009 from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul. She recently finished her residency at Psychology Specialists in Bloomington, Ill.
Vander Weyst is the son of Ray and Virginia Vander Weyst.
He is a 1995 graduate of Foley High School and a 2002 graduate of St. Cloud Technical College with a degree in credit and finance. He is employed by State Farm Insurance in Elgin, Ill., as a senior agency field specialist.
