WILLMAR -- Lena Kamstra, 92, of Willmar died Saturday at Bethesda Pleasant View Nursing Home in Willmar.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Willmar Christian Reformed Church. Burial is at Holland Township Cemetery near Prinsburg.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Tri-County Funeral Home in Prinsburg and continues for one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
Lena VanMersbergen Kamstra was born Aug. 27, 1918, in Melvin, Iowa, to Lawrence and Lorraine (Schreider) VanMersbergen. Lena's parents later moved to the Prinsburg area where she attended school and was active in the Christian Reformed Church.
There she met her husband Albert Kamstra and they were married Feb. 9, 1939, at her parent's home. To this union was born three children, Delores, Marlis and Allen. Albert and Lena farmed near Prinsburg for a number of years and later owned and operated Al's Cafe in Prinsburg. Her husband Albert passed away Aug. 2, 1970. She moved to the Willmar area and worked at Somody Supply until her retirement. She enjoyed making quilts, embroidery, gardening and cooking.

Lena is survived by two daughters, Delores (Bob) Van Hofwegen of Lynden, Wash., Marlis (Calton) Lowery of Paynesville; one son, Allen (Connie) Kamstra of Willmar; grandchildren, Michelle (Gary) Hielkema, Eric (Becky) Van Hofwegen, Jason (Mandy) Van Hofwegen, Emily (Don) Slagter, Craig (Krista) Lowrey, Christa Lowery, Randy (Amanda) Kamstra; 15 great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four sisters and two brothers.
