PENNOCK -- Leon D. Klinghagen, 48, of Pennock died Tuesday at Meeker County Memorial Hospital in Litchfield.
The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Mamrelund Lutheran Church in Pennock. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 167 of Willmar.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
He was born June 3, 1957, in Minneapolis to Clarence and Florence (Boike) Klinghagen. He grew up in Raymond and Pennock and graduated from Willmar High School in 1975. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1977 and served in Japan and Okinawa.

He married Debra DeSchepper on July 17, 1993. He worked as a conductor and engineer for Burlington Northern-Sante Fe Railroad.
He was a member of the NRA, Pheasants Forever, the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers Union and was a Shelter House volunteer.
He is survived by his wife; children: Stephanie Mead (and Todd Engler) of Pennock, Deric (and Heather) DeSchepper of Spicer, Lyndsey DeSchepper (and Kevin Friehl) of Sartell, Brede DeSchepper of Rapid City, S.D.; nine grandchildren; and siblings: LaVonne (and Jerome) Hedman of Paynesville, Marilyn (and Red) Bass of Lewisville, Texas, Larry (and Chris) Klinghagen of Belle Fourche, S.D., Dean (and Linda) Klinghagen, and Darlene (and Jim) Gerdes, all of Willmar.
He was preceded in death by one sister and a twin brother.
