THIEF RIVER FALLS -- Leota Annette Ellison, 82, died Monday at Oakland Park Communities in Thief River Falls.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. Burial will be at 4:30 p.m. Friday at North LaMoure Cemetery, south of Valley City, N.D.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are by Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls.

She was born April 29, 1926, in LaMoure County, N.D., to Herman and Irene (Anderson) Henrikson. She was raised on a farm in LaMoure County and attended rural school near their home. She attended high school in LaMoure and graduated in 1944. She graduated in 1947 from Mercy School of Nursing in Valley City, N.D., as a registered nurse. She worked at Mercy Hospital in Valley City for several months.

She married Carlton Ellison on Sept. 28, 1947, near LaMoure. They lived in Carrington, N.D., where she was employed at the Carrington Hospital for a number of years. In 1971, they moved to Willmar where she worked at Rice Memorial Hospital. In 1983, they retired and moved to their lake home in Henning. In 1993, they moved to Moorhead and, in 2008, they moved to Thief River Falls.

She is survived by her husband; sons: Clair (and Suzy) Ellison of Thief River Falls and Richard (and Kathy) Ellison of Devils Lake, N.D.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings: Arlean Quackenbush of Austin, Harvey (and Betty) Henrikson of Henning and Violet (and Eldon) Bergman of Frazee.

She was preceded in death by a grandson and a brother.
