MADISON -- Lester Charles Kelly, 87, of Madison died Tuesday at the Madison Hospital.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Appleton. Burial will be at the Appleton City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Zniewski Funeral Home-Vaala Chapel in Appleton, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
He was born July 23, 1918, in Bancroft, Iowa, to Charles and Nellie (Schmuck) Kelly. He attended school through the twelfth grade.

He married Jonetta Hinneberg on Nov. 26, 1939, in Odessa. They lived in rural Madison. He worked in the Appleton and Madison areas as a farmer and carpenter.
He served on the church council at the Methodist Church and was active with his bowling league.
He is survived by his wife; children: Joyce (and Rueben) Muehlbauer of Bloomington, Donna Anderson of Madison, Dallas (and Kerry) Kelly of Dawson; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one sister: Martha (and Raymond) Koepp of Marietta.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
