GLENWOOD -- Lester Kenneth Rupp, 83, died Friday at Lakeview Good Samaritan Center in Glenwood.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery.
Visitation is for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home chapel. Memorials are preferred.
He was born March 24, 1923, in Webster, S.D. to Alexander and Emma (Schoenbeck) Rupp. He grew up on a farm near Slayton and attended country school.

He married Joy Swanson on June 8, 1945 in Slayton. They lived and farmed in Lake Wilson. They bought a farm eight miles from Glenwood in 1954.
He is survived by his wife; six children, Joyce (and Joe) Kelley of Glenwood, Kenneth (and Gin) Rupp of Villard, Terry (and Joann) Rupp of Neenah, Wis., Jerry (and Sandy) Rupp of Omro, Wis., Sharon (and Gerald) Karger of Glenwood, and Sheila (and Wayne) Beckwith of Glenwood; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Opal Olson of Gary, S.D.; and two brothers, Morris Rupp of Alexandria, and LeRoy Richard Rupp of Choctaw, Okla.
He was preceded in death by two son, Gary and Kevin; three brothers, one sister and two infant grandsons.
