There were over 100 volunteers at the Willmar Community and Senior Center who were cutting, pinning, stringing elastic and sewing, etc., all in the process of making adaptive clothing for our injured servicemen and women. All told, they made over 300 finished pieces and more, inasmuch as some of the volunteers took the materials home to finish their pieces.

These dedicated people came from all over the area. They included a group of young girls belonging to the Girl Scouts who worked on the project. Some 21 sewing machines were put into service, most used for a straight five hours.

These articles of clothing will be donated to many hospitals all the way to Germany.

The letters that have been posted from those that have received articles of clothing would bring tears to your eyes. Our service personnel have given so much for us. This project sends its love to them and may help them gain a little dignity.

Many of the volunteers have placed letters in the pockets, expressing their heartfelt thanks for their service.

It may be that the West Central Tribune has missed out on one of the great stories of our times. Even though this newspaper had previously carried a story, a photographer could have given us a look at a tremendously heart-warming sight of this group's care and love. It is not only sensationalism and violence that tells the story of our times.
