I opened my mailbox on Oct. 30, to find two pamphlets supporting state Senator Dean Johnson. They both contained information stating Johnson was "pro-life" and supported "traditional marriage between a man and a woman." This could not be further from the truth.
Johnson almost single-handedly prevented the Senate from taking any action on the Abortion Regulation Act, which would have ended forced taxpayer-funded abortion in Minnesota. Johnson's failure to act on his promise as a pro-life politician cost Minnesota taxpayers $1.4 million in 2004, which funded 4,100 abortions.
Dean Johnson also claims he supports traditional values, and is against same-sex marriage. What's discomforting about this is the fact that a recent Mason Dixon poll shows that 63 percent of our state wants to vote on a marriage amendment. Senator Johnson, who are you representing?
Dean Johnson's promises and his voting record are quite contradictory. What a shame that actions speak louder than words.
